These Terms and Conditions apply to all carpet, flooring, fitting, measuring, quotation, supply, and installation services provided by Floor Trade Ireland Ltd.
By booking a fitting job, paying a deposit, accepting a quotation, or using our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
1. Quotations
All quotations are based on the information available at the time of quoting, including measurements, product selection, fitting requirements, site conditions, and customer instructions.
Quotations may be subject to change if:
- Measurements supplied by the customer are incorrect;
- Additional preparation work is required;
- Subfloors, stairs, doorways, skirting, damp issues, uneven floors, or other site conditions require extra work;
- The customer changes the product, fitting area, date, or scope of the job;
- Additional materials or labour are required.
Any additional costs will be discussed with the customer before further work is carried out where reasonably possible.
2. Booking Deposit
A €250 non-refundable booking deposit is required for all fitting jobs once a fitting date is booked.
This deposit secures your fitting date, covers administration, scheduling, planning, and allocation of fitting resources, and confirms your commitment to proceed with the job.
Your booking is not confirmed until the €250 booking deposit has been received.
3. Non-Refundable Deposit Policy
The €250 booking deposit is non-refundable where the customer cancels the fitting job for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Change of mind;
- Change of circumstances;
- Delay caused by the customer;
- The property not being ready for fitting;
- Failure to provide access on the agreed date;
- Cancellation after materials, labour, or fitting time have been allocated;
- Choosing another supplier or fitter.
By paying the booking deposit, the customer acknowledges and agrees that the deposit is non-refundable in the event of customer cancellation. This does not affect your statutory rights.
4. Rescheduling
Where possible, we may allow a fitting appointment to be rescheduled, subject to availability.
Requests to reschedule must be made as early as possible. We cannot guarantee that the original fitting date, fitter, product availability, or quoted timeframe will remain available.
If a customer repeatedly reschedules, fails to provide access, or causes unreasonable delay, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled by the customer, in which case the €250 booking deposit remains non-refundable.
5. Cancellations by Us
If we need to cancel or reschedule a fitting due to circumstances outside our control, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to arrange an alternative date.
If we are unable to provide the service and no suitable alternative can be agreed, any deposit or payment made for services not provided will be refunded where legally required.
6. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for ensuring that:
- The property is ready for fitting on the agreed date;
- Rooms are cleared unless furniture moving has been agreed in advance;
- Old flooring is removed unless removal has been agreed in advance;
- Electricity, lighting, parking, and safe access are available;
- The subfloor is in a suitable condition unless preparation work has been agreed;
- Children, pets, and other persons are kept away from the fitting area;
- Any known issues, such as damp, uneven floors, loose boards, pipes, cables, or underfloor heating, are disclosed before work begins.
We are not responsible for delays, additional costs, or inability to complete work caused by the site not being ready or suitable.
7. Materials and Product Colour
Product colours, textures, patterns, and finishes may vary slightly from samples, photographs, or website images due to manufacturing batches, lighting, screen settings, and natural product variation.
The customer is responsible for checking that the chosen carpet, flooring, colour, design, and specification are correct before fitting begins.
Once flooring has been cut, fitted, or installed, it may not be possible to return or exchange it unless there is a proven fault.
8. Fitting and Installation
We will carry out fitting services with reasonable care and skill.
The customer accepts that some minor adjustments may be required during installation depending on the condition of the property, subfloor, walls, doors, stairs, or existing fittings.
Door trimming, subfloor preparation, uplift and disposal of old flooring, moving furniture, damp treatment, screeding, or repair work are not included unless expressly stated in the quotation.
9. Payment
The balance of payment is due on or before completion of the job unless otherwise agreed in writing.
We reserve the right to request payment before fitting where materials have been specially ordered or where agreed in advance.
Late payment may result in delays, cancellation of further work, or recovery of outstanding sums.
10. Faults, Issues, and Complaints
If you believe there is an issue with the goods or fitting service, you must contact us as soon as possible and give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, put the issue right.
Customers should not arrange third-party repairs or alterations without first allowing us the opportunity to inspect the issue.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your legal rights in relation to faulty goods, poor workmanship, or services not carried out with reasonable care and skill. The CCPC notes that consumers may have rights to remedies where services are faulty, delayed, or not provided as agreed.
11. Right to Cancel for Online, Phone, or Off-Premises Bookings
Where a customer enters into a contract online, by phone, email, or away from our business premises, cancellation rights may apply under consumer law.
However, these rights may not apply, or may be affected, where goods are made to the customer's specifications, cut to size, specially ordered, personalised, or where the customer has requested that work begins within the cancellation period.
Where applicable, we will comply with your statutory cancellation rights. This does not affect the non-refundable booking deposit policy where cancellation is not covered by a statutory right to refund.
Consumer guidance in Ireland states that many online, phone, and doorstep purchases may have a cooling-off period, so this section should be reviewed carefully for your exact sales process.
12. Liability
We are not responsible for:
- Pre-existing damage or defects;
- Damage caused by unsuitable subfloors or site conditions;
- Delays caused by the customer, suppliers, traffic, weather, or events outside our control;
- Colour or batch variation in products;
- Movement, shrinkage, expansion, or wear caused by normal use, moisture, poor maintenance, or incorrect aftercare.
We do not exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
13. Website Information
We aim to keep the information on our website accurate and up to date. However, product availability, prices, offers, colours, and specifications may change without notice. Website images are for illustration only.
14. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be dealt with by the Irish courts, unless otherwise required by law.
